What is Pinterest?

After creating your own eye-catching Pins (we will show you how!) and discovering other people’s Pins you love, save them to boards to keep your ideas organised and also to share your ideas with other people on Pinterest.

With 30% of users having a household income over $140K, Pinterest is a great Social Media Platform for you to find your target audience and be their next great find or their next purchase!

How to Grow your Audience on Pinterest

1. Create new and exciting pins consistently and regularly

The more good content you create, the more likely you are to capture your target audience and reach new customers.

2. Use Pinterest Trends

The Pinterest Trends is a great marketing tool to create content that people are searching for and help you decide where to focus your content. When you type in a keyword, you’ll see how that topic is trending and many people have searched for it.

3. Use the right Keywords

After checking the Pinterest Trends and discovering what people are searching for, use these keywords on your Pins and you will reach more people. Be sure to tag both your Pins and your Pinterest Boards with keywords and that the you use keywork-rich and specific descriptions.

4. Topic tag before you publish

Tag your Idea Pins and video Pins with relevant topics right before publishing. By tagging a number of topics, you will be sure to reach more people searching for those subjects.

5. Fill in all of your board details

After creating your Pinterest Boards, fill out the detail fields. Your board names, descriptions and categories all impact how your content shows up in Pinterest search results. Use clear, descriptive language to improve your search performance.

6. Build Relationships with your Audience

Like all your other Social Median Platforms, your brand on Pinterest will grow based on how much effort you put into relationships with your audience. Follow other Boards with similar interests to yours, comment on popular Pins and Repin others.

As Pinterest’s feed in not chronological and customers find content based on their interests, your content will remain discoverable.  If you only have a few items you are selling, try creating a number of different pins using different amazing images and fonts.

When is the Best Time to Pin?

According to CoSchedule, the best times to pin in descending order are 8pm, 4pm, 9pm, 3pm and 2pm. If you only have limited time to hop onto Pinterest, the best days to Pin are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Unlike Facebook where you can schedule post up to 75 days from when you create the post, or Twitter that allows the scheduling of Tweets up to 18 months into the future, Pinterest only allows Pins to be scheduled 10 days in advance, so unless you have a Social Media Scheduling Tool such as Tailwind or CoSchedule, this is one social media platform you are going to be visiting quite often!
